Wanna be a SUPERHERO? Then this is the game for you!
Fate has cast you in the role of an immortal, a superhero. To break the long,
monotonous days, the gods and super heroes have taken to giving each other
complex puzzles to solve. Today, it's your turn to play the game, and for the
very highest stakes - you MUST perform well, for all the other deities are
watching you from above, ready to strip you of your immortality and status if
you fail in your quest!
Luckily Venus, the goddess of love, feels sympathetic and has hidden some useful
objects in some of the rooms - find these and your task will become a lot
easier...

PLAYING THE GAME...
The first thing you should do is to explore the complex and find the four
magical gifts that Venus has hidden for you - these will endow you with
supernatural powers...look for the POWER BOOTS which enable you to jump...the
RETURNING WARHAMMER, for slaying the myriad monsters and ghouls in the
corridors...a TRANS-DIMENSIONAL BAG which nullifies the mass and size of an
object, allowing you to carry it easily...and a MYSTICAL HELMET which destines
you to be showered with gifts from the watching gods.
THE TREASURES FROM THE GODS
Once you have the Mystical Helmet, gifts from the gods will occasionally be
bestowed upon you while you are in the corridors of the complex. Gifts could be:
TELEPORT KEYS for using the teleports...MERCURY'S WINGED SHOES for running more
swiftly (only temporarily)...a PARALYSER to eliminate monsters in the corridors
...GOLD to buy things from the traders...and ESP ACTIVATORS which, when taken to
the ESP Orbs (in certain rooms), will guide you towards the next GUARDIAN'S
SPIRIT (GREEN means right direction, RED means wrong direction)
ALSO STARRING IN THIS GAME...
TRADERS -- Bodiless creatures with winged ears -- you can buy things from the
with your gold (extra lives, paralysers, teleport keys, information) or you can
gamble with them! Run headlong into a trader to activate him.
ENERGY SPHERES -- Fuzzy balls that are found in some of the rooms -- they home
in and kill you, unless you can jump on top of them.
GUARDIANS -- In the corridors your way will sometimes be blocked by one of the 5
EVIL GUARDIANS. The GUARDIANS can only be vanquished by capturing their spirits,
which are hidden in rooms in the complex.
Every time you capture a Guardian's Spirit you will be thrown into the DeadZone
-- if you survive you are awarded a bonus life.
To complete the game you must eliminate all five Guardians then enter the room
behind the final Guardian. When you pause the game the PLAYER STATUS screen is
displayed. This will tell you many things, including which of Venus' magical
items you have found -- you possess the ones that light up in yellow.
CONTROLS
You can use a joystick or the keyboard to control SuperHero. This game is
compatible with the Sinclair Interface 2 and the Kempston Interface.
If you prefer to use the keyboard, the control keys are:
North Q
South A
East P
West O
Pick up/Drop SPACE
Jump/Fire ENTER
CAPS SHIFT = PAUSE/STATUS (then Press SYMBOL SHIFT to Quit)
